Thanks for this sobering reality check, David. More than anything else, I think it was the so-called “woke” issues you pointed out plus the economy. Speaking only for myself as a conservative Christian, I made the choice to vote for Harris as the lesser of two evils. We would at least still have a Constitution and be governed by competent people who care. In my view the most important issue was to preserve the republic. To use a quote that is often mis-attributed to Martin Luther: “I’d rather be ruled by a wise Turk than by a foolish Christian.” Or in the case of Trump a fake Christian. I am stunned that so many evangelical Christian’s leaders fell for Trump.
From Daniel 11 “Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for that which is decreed will be done. He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all. But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know; he will honor him with gold, silver, costly stones and treasures”.
