The Update

In the original article, I laid out 3 issues that kept me from going all in on an iPad only work flow. Since the introduction of iPadOS 18x and the new AI features, I wanted to revisit this article and see what, if anything, has changed.

The Original Issues:

  1. External Camera Support: MS Teams on iPad OS does not support external cameras including the one in the Apple Studio Display.
  2. “Touch First” vs. “Desktop”: The native iPad OS version of Excel is different enough that I just can’t get comfortable.
  3. Multi-Device Connectivity: Even in 2024, Apple does not support effortless multi-device connectivity of their keyboards. This unleashes a nightmare loop of “Forget this Device” and turning Bluetooth off on / off to get my Magic Keyboards at home / office to connect and reconnect to my Mac or iPad.
