A quick google search indicates that their numbers are declining but not just due to Apple Watch sales. Swiss watch exports took a 16% dive in 2015. (Coincidentally the year after Apple Watch debuted.) The secondary market is also taking a beating in both resale value and numbers. Some reports point to a flagging China demand and many other factors.

Admittedly, I’m not a watch guy, but I do appreciate a well crafted time piece. Many of my friends who are into watches also have an Apple Watch and maybe a Garmin that they wear for workouts, etc.

Ex Apple designer Jony Ive was a huge watch guy which I think is why the Apple Watch is so well crafted. I’d actually love to see a collab between a company like TAG Heuer and Apple on a hybrid watch.
